Library and Student Service Center
As libraries have evolved in function, especially in recent years, they have become more akin to “hubs” or research centers as opposed to a repository for books. Books are still a major component of high school libraries, however, as books evolve into “e-books” and internet resources grow, todays libraries are evolving.
To design the library for these changing times, we redesigned the library with a cafe opening and an outdoor seating area where students would be able to gather to buy refeshments. This would incentivize students to use the library as a common gathering spot as well as a study area.
We oversaw a full Hazardous Materials removal and the replacement of surfaces as well.
