We celebrate 15 years of successful client relationships and good work

Our new website designed by Ryan Posey a former BA Intern is published

2022

Hired to design multi-million dollar-multi-year project district wide restroom and preschool classrooms

We move our office|studio to downown San Mateo and implement our new "hybrid" work environment

2020

THE PANDEMIC: March 17 2020: Bartos Architecture goes remote

2019

Construction begins on Na Mu Sa (Tree Temple House)

2018

Hired to provide Program Management Services to SCCSD for Measure A|B

2017

Selected to provide Architectural Services for multi-million dollar- multi year program at four school sites in Santa Cruz

We begin Aviation Master Planning Assistance| Coordinating Architect with Av-Air Pros for LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) Terminal 9 Expansion

2016

Career Technical Education Facilities (CTEFP) : Westmont HS Engineering, Westmont HS Agriculture, Prospect HS Media Arts, Del Mar HS Biotech

2015

Developed and wrote the Campbell Union High School District Master Plan leading to the passage of $275,000,000 Bond Measure AA

2014

Developed and wrote Los Gatos Saratoga Union High School District Facilities Master Plan leading to passage of Measure E Bond Election.

Wrote successful CTEFP grant funding application for Piner High School Geospatial Technology Program.

Designed new Geospatial Technology Program Facility for Santa Rosa City Schools.

2013

Our second annual HS and College Intern Program commences.

Architecture lectures, technical training, field trips, and individual projects are just a few of the ways the Bartos School of Architecture has sought to shape the future generation of architects.

2012

Mark Bartos, AIA serves as President of the American Institute of Architects, San Mateo County

2011

We establish our High School Intern Program - as an Addition to our College Intern Program

2010

John Nolen, our close friend and mentor, passes. His spirit lives on with us.

Each year in May, we observe John Nolen in appreciation of his impact on our firm.

Mark serves as Vice President of the AIASMC as Bartos Architecture continues to grow

We add Program Management and Construction Management to our service list and continue to work on several  modernizations and construction of Career Technical Education facilities.

2009

We Add the Campbell Union High School District as an ongoing and long term client. We start the design of Libraries at Westmont, Leigh and Del Mar High School.

Our Team Expands and Office Space Doubles in Size

2008

Bartos Architecture is founded by Mark Bartos at the Height of the "Great Recession"

We begin a long term Career Technical Education Facilities Improvement Program for The Metropolitan Education District , Based on funding applications written by Mark Bartos. We provide Program Management and Architectural Services to MetroED for several years. We are founded with a strong commitment to the concept of Career and Technical Education.

We find our new "digs" at 4 West 4th (affectionately known as IVWIV or "Ivy Tower West") -- the same building that housed Napster, YouTube and other startups.

During our first days, we put a lot of work into creating and outfitting our workspace and establishing ongoing client relationships.
